Confetti In Kobe

Kobe, Japan

I’m in a really good mood today, much like the mood I was in when I found myself in a room full of confetti in Kobe last year. Do you know how much fun it is to be in a room full of confetti? A lot.

I’m in a such a good mood because I have made significant headway on my Asian adventure that’s coming up…in only 5 weeks! I now have my flights (Canada to Thailand and back), my travel insurance, the Gap Adventure tour through India, and the Intrepid trip through Nepal’s national park all booked. I haven’t been on many tours but I decided that, for my first time in India, I’d like to relax and let someone else take care of the transportation and accommodation (and it’s also a great way to make instant friends). I also added Hong Kong to my itinerary as I have to connect through there; I’ll be there for a four-day stopover. I’ve also decided to join a volunteer program at an elephant sanctuary in Thailand for two weeks, which I think is worth the price.

Needless to say, I’m very excited. Now I only have to book flights from Bangkok to Delhi, then Delhi to Kathmandu, then Kathmandu back to Bangkok, then Singapore to Bali, then Bali back to Bangkok, and then get my Indian, Nepalese, and Cambodian visas, and then get all of the shots I still need, and then buy a new backpack, travel towel, hiking shoes, new camera, and then…oh God.

Oh man, I can’t wait to see your photos, too! I do have a nice camera at the moment but it has a large scratch on the lens, and as it is already a few years old I decided to just splurge on a newer model. I can’t wait to play with it…and to have a user guide that isn’t in Japanese!
