Koyasan, Miyajima, Kyoto, Osaka, and Tokyo, Japan
There are few phrases you hear over and over again when visiting Japan. “Sumimasen!” meaning excuse me, I’m sorry, thank you, or even to call a server when at a restaurant. “Sugoi!” meaning cool, or wonderful. And of course, “Kawaii!” meaning cute. Cute cute cute. I heard this phrase so many times in Japan that sometimes I thought that every single goddamn thing in Japan was kawaii. And you know what? It kind of was.
