Kep, Cambodia
I am currently sitting in the packed lounge area of my wonderful guesthouse, Bodhi Villas of Kampot, surrounded by other travellers playing pool, playing cards, playing bongos… and so I will have to write quickly as to not appear completely anti-social. What can I say of the past ten days in Cambodia? Open-air rooms overlooking the river, chatting with the locals, eating delicious amok curry and lok lak, drinking cheap whiskey and beer, riding around for hours on a shoddy (but lovable) motorbike, swimming instead of showering, getting to know some of the loveliest people I’ve met yet in my six months on the road, wandering through temples and markets and abandoned towns, feeling happier and more full of life with each passing day, with each passing hour.
It is a running gag with my travel partner that, without fail, I turn to him at least daily and say, “Oh my God, we are so lucky.” And he looks at me and says, “I know.”

Sounds like you’re having a great time with the other travelers!
ps, thank you so much for the postcard. def made my day 🙂
it’s playoffs over here. so i’m sitting on the couch with z. and there’s hockey on. and i’m not going to watch the hockey. so i get the laptop. and you are my favourite place in all the internets to visit. so i sit here, and i read about all these travels. and i look at your list of dream countries to visit and i wonder in which of those i will meet up with you. and i look over at z. he reads over my shoulder. you are more exciting than hockey. and i say to him we should travel the world, just like brenna. and he smiles and says he would love that. and that i am very lucky to have you in my life. and i think he is the rightest. and i love you. goodnight.
