The Gili Islands, Indonesia
I just returned from an amazing nine days in Maui, where we ate and swam and lounged and drove and drank and laughed, all to the excess. Though we didn’t go scuba diving as planned (we were far too lazy in the end), it is always such an incredible experience to be on the beach, to hear the waves crashing into shore at night.
I grew up in the prairies of Canada, thousands of kilometres from the ocean – I believe that is why I love the water so much now. I traded seas of wheat for seas of blue water. I’m still a long way from becoming a champion swimmer like my favourite travelling partner Aaron, but my dream has always been to live by the sea. I want a life where I always have the faint taste of seawater on my lips, where I go to bed at night and still feel the rocking of the waves.

I love the sounds of the waves, too 🙂 The ocean is simply amazing. That last photo of the sea turtle is awesome!
