First of all, apologies for the lack of photos accompanying my posts from the Philippines. I am currently in a sleepy little town where there is electricity for only half of the day: the town of El Nido, on the Filipino island of Palawan. I’ve been spending my days swimming in turquoise waters, island-hopping, drinking fresh coconut milk, snorkelling amongst some of the most beautiful fish and coral I have ever seen, eating mango with every meal, and just generally being a beach bum. If paradise has a name, it is El Nido.
The only real downside to travelling alone to a place like this, however, is that, without fail, I always sunburn my back. The perils of being a solo traveller…
