It’s no secret that I am pretty obsessed with London. I absolutely love living here, and I am constantly overwhelmed by the sheer amount of things to do and see. Despite living in London for two years, I feel as though I’ve barely scratched the surface, and that I’m only just beginning to discover what the city really has to offer.
On top of that, London is a photographer’s dream.

I’ve had Instagram for a few years now, but only recently really got into it – I now love to share photos of London as much as possible, and I’ve also started following a lot of excellent London-based accounts. The whole experience has made me start taking photos of London a lot more, which in turn has made me see the city through different eyes. I’m not a huge fan of selfies or shots of clothing/products, so you won’t find many fashion bloggers on the list of accounts I follow; I prefer travel, food, and lifestyle accounts. Of course, there are so many amazing photographers and Instagrammers in London, so this is just a small sampling and just a subjective list, so I am hoping to do a part two sometime soon.
Anyway, here are some of my favourite Instagram accounts of London.

@thisbatteredsuitcase

And then, of course, there’s me… *cough cough*. I’m still finding my way when it comes to photography, and I’ve yet to play with professional equipment (most of my photos are shot on an old iPhone when I see something I like around London) or even find my true personal style, but I’m loving the experience. I try to upload photos that represent day-to-day life in London and what it’s really like when you travel, so I’ll probably never have one of those gorgeously curated feeds where my hair always looks perfect and it never rains. I hope you’ll check out my account nonetheless.

I want to hear from you: who else do you follow on Instagram that showcases the best of London, or what are your favourite Instagram accounts?

Thanks Rebecca! Yeah, some really great Instagrammers in the city. 🙂
Thanks so much for all of the great recommendations! I am also trying to improve my photography at the moment, so have started following lots of these (am already following you of course!)
Thank you so much, Emily-Ann! Yeah, I’d love to step up my photography over the next year…
I definitely just went through and followed every single one of these feeds, and now my dream of moving to London has been reignited. Amazing feeds, yours included!
xx
Aw, that’s awesome… and thank you! Hopefully you will move here very soon, it’s a fantastic city! 🙂
I’m going to start following some of these now! Thanks for the suggestions 🙂
Thanks Zalie, glad you liked the suggestions! 😀
There are some good suggestions among this list. Do you think Instagrammers should focus only on one theme, meaning becoming recognised as an expert, or is it mainly about uploading aesthetically pleasing images?
I think that some of the biggest accounts in the world definitely have a theme – whether that’s a style of photography, a type of filter used, or a subject (like a certain country, or, you know, symmetrical breakfasts). I personally noticed that when I started posting more consistently about London (and not breaking it up with other photos) I received a lot more followers.
At the end of the day, however, I really do think it’s about uploading beautiful, high-quality photographs. Just my opinion, though!
